PLASA is working to expand the practical value available to its members and the wider healthcare logistics sector. Alongside advocacy on regulatory matters, pricing, logistics fees, NHI, essential services and supply chain resilience, these initiatives aim to reduce operational pressure and improve access to specialist expertise.

Regulatory and compliance support

PLASA was engaging experienced industry specialists on access to regulatory support, including GMP, GWP and GDP licensing and standards, standard operating procedures, quality systems, audit readiness and compliance guidance relevant to pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics operations.

Legal support

Discussions with Dentons concerned an exclusive monthly pro-amico support arrangement for PLASA members and a preferential blended rate for broader legal services. The proposed support covered commercial, regulatory, labour, contractual and other legal matters. Scope and terms remained under discussion.

Packaging cost savings

A pricing exercise with a large national corrugated box manufacturer was exploring reduced packaging costs for members. The aim was to improve value in an area that contributes significantly to logistics operating costs.

Protective workwear

PLASA was also in discussions with a leading national workwear group on a collaborative proposition covering protective workwear, operational uniforms and related workplace requirements.

Representation and practical value

The objective is to combine strategic representation with practical commercial support, helping healthcare logistics providers respond to regulatory, cost, policy and operational pressures. Further details will be shared as arrangements are finalised.
